Electrical Parts

Forklifts can be particularly labeled to be used in hazardous locations. A labeled lift truck indicates the design has met the minimum standards of ANSI/UL 558 intended for engine powered trucks or ANSI/UL 583 used for electric lift trucks for the type of label attached.

The application for labels for lift forklifts may be found in National Fire Protection Association NFPA 505 - Powered Industrial forklifts including: Type Designations, Areas of Use, and Maintenance and Operation. Check with your local insurance carrier and Fire Marshall for more information concerning the approved uses of industrial powered lift trucks in your application.

If the particular lift truck satisfies the outlined standards, labels can be placed. A labeled lift truck would show the type of designation placed on the nameplate and would have a properly corresponding label put.
